Aristotle and AID to Haiti People

We see Aristotle's words relating to real life events taking place today. A major disaster had taken place in Haiti were a 7.0 earthquake has taken place. People are left without basic needs such as water, food, and medical supplies. Well nations and people have come together for common good of supplying theses people with their basic needs. In the article Glitches Remain, but aid reaching quake victims on CNN.COM. The article is shedding light on what all the organizations and people's donations are doing to help assist with the crisis. Thanks to some many organizations rushing to assist in helping set up medical centers, distributing water and food has really helped the people of that nation. Aristotle believes that it is important that people help one another and give if they can. Common everyday needs such as water, food, and medical supplies are in need. Nations around the world are stepping in to help as Aristotle would say in the cause of a common good. Just as Aristotle said when you take away the meaning behind money, it is worth nothing, a perfect example is what's going on in Haiti. Money isn't worth anything right now, basic things such as water, food, and other things that are needed for everyday are worth more. People are always to concerned about getting more money up until something like this occurs and they come to relize something like water in really worth more

  1. Isn't it amazing that in the world that we sometimes as fast paced, too complicated, too greedy, and beligerent we see that human beings still find it in their hearts to help those who are in need? I agree with what you are advocating, and wish that as human beings we would make helping others as a norm and not just when someone has just gone through something traumatic..like the earthquake in Haiti.

Thank you, I enjoyed reading your blog!

  2. I agree with you both, the basic needs are the most important and that is what we should be willing to give all the time not just after a traggic disaster has occured. but in todays world with so much going on and so much that people think they need to live well it takes a disaster like this to make them realize they can give and should give things other then money because money isn't worth anything to us if were not living.
